Class: The Way of Effortless Mindfulness

Spiritual Enrichment Course
Five Mondays, beginning July 3, from 6:30 to 8 pm, in person at the Center.
Teacher: Rev. Russ Legear

Have you ever tried mindfulness meditation, but found it hard to focus because your thoughts constantly interrupt you? Do you have an existing mindfulness practice, but are looking to expand it and go deeper? Are you wanting to gain access to that wise inner Self that is filled with love and compassion?

The Way of Effortless Mindfulness, by Loch Kelly, shares a new-to-us form of mindfulness meditation rooted in the centuries old Dzochen tradition of Buddhism. It is based on bypassing the traditional ways we learn to meditate to have a direct experience of the wise inner Self that is at the core of each of us. In this practice, we become aware of our inner awareness itself, and through that awareness, are able to cultivate more love, courage, and compassion in our daily lives.

Join Rev. Russ as we explore Loch Kelly’s book and Rev. Russ guides us through the new mindfulness practices it contains. We will meditate together, talk about our experiences of Self, and support one another as we grow through this powerful practice of Effortless Mindfulness.

Cost: Sliding scale, pay what you feel called to pay ($100, $75, $50, or $25)
