COVID-19 Update: Space Available?

Why Is There a “Space Available” Sign at the Center?

While we cannot meet in person at the Center, we are exploring renting out some of our space. The Center has rented space to other organizations in the past, and it is appropriate now to put our resources to work for us until we can meet again in person.

The sign has not gone up yet, but we are working with a commercial real estate agent to let prospective lessees know that parts of our facility are available for short term leases during the Pandemic. We want to let our community know in advance so that there is no confusion. We are not selling the building, just renting portions on a short time basis.

We are looking for entities that need more space during the Pandemic. As the Pandemic winds down, we assume that there will be less need for rental space. Ideally, we would like to make our rooms available for rent to hospitals, clinics, testing sites, storage space for supplies during the crisis, and almost anyone helping during the Pandemic and needs space.

If you know of anyone who may be interested in leasing space at the Center, please have them contact

When we have more information, we will post updated information about our building here on our website.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, your elected leaders, staff, and ministers have been working to move our community into a purely online experience, while at the same time staying informed about the County of Sonoma Health Officer’s orders. While we have no plans to reopen the Center at this time, a re-entry team was recently formed at the direction of the board of trustees to make sure that when the time is right to reopen, we will do so in a safe manner adhering to local and state guidelines. Members of the team are President David Powers, Treasurer Bob Hart, Trustee Julie Burns, Facility Manager Evan Dow-Williamson, and Chief Operating Officer Linda Hann. If you have questions, please contact Linda Hann at

The Center is currently closed to staff, volunteers, and congregants. If you need access to the building, please contact Facility Manager Evan Dow-Williamson at

We Are Not a Building

The Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa is not housed in the building located at 2075 Occidental Road and never has been. It lives in the hearts of the community wherever they are located. And it always will be whenever we gather and whatever the method we use to gather. You are the Center for Spiritual Living, and it will live in you for as long as you freely identify yourself as a practicing metaphysician. Until we can all meet in our building in a safe manner, here are some things to consider.

Our Values of Love and Compassion Guide Us

We are made by the Divine, not with a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline. Our teaching urges us to be still and to consult with that spirit of power, love, and self-discipline. Our values of love and compassion guide us to apply our creative minds to the good of all and to envision the best possible outcome for all.

We Will Reopen When It Is Safe for Everyone

Our analysis of our facility and volunteers indicates that we do not have the capacity to provide both online and in person services now. We want to be confident that when we reopen the building, we can do so safely in a way that considers all of our congregants, including our most vulnerable. Until then, the Center for Spiritual Living will continue to be as it always has been—dynamic, healthy, and inspiring—online and in your heart.

What Is Our Focus?

Our focus will continue to be what it always has been: to provide spiritual tools for personal and global transformation through the teaching and practice of Science of Mind. We will be creatively expanding our focus to include building community online; to staying connected online; to learning and studying online; to discuss, grieve, share, and celebrate online. And if we grow weary of online activity, we will sit in contemplation to regenerate by dipping into that deep well of the Divine until we are ready to commune again. It is our way. We will not to be hypnotized by chaotic conditions.

We Have Confidence in the Future

Your trustees, stewards, staff, and leadership are creating long term plans for our community. We have confidence in the future based on one single fact: you.

I am immensely grateful for our virtual services, classes, and activities along with the dozens of individuals and teams who are doing amazing work keeping us connected and on our spiritual path with love and support.

We will continue to post and update information on our website about how we can remain in contact, study, pray, love, and serve together.

My blessings to you,

Edward Viljoen
