Our Privacy Commitment
The Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa (hereafter referred to as “the Center”) is committed to protecting the privacy of its congregants. The personal information you share with the Center is used to support the administration and management of ministries, delivery of services, and maintaining programs offered by the Center. We protect the personal information and adhere to all legislative requirements with respect to protecting privacy. The Center does not release, sell, or otherwise provide personal or financial data to outside organizations or third parties.
Why Does the Center Gather Personal Information?
Personal information is any information that identifies you as an individual. The Center collects personal information for a variety of purposes, such as:
• Membership registration and listings;
• Registering for e-mail newsletters, blog post mailing lists, and announcements;
• Class and/or event registration;
• Volunteer and leadership development;
• Program and service registration;
• Spiritual coaching and prayer support; and
• Administration (tithing, offerings, donations, etc.)
How Does the Center Ensure Privacy Protections?
We collect, use, and disclose personal information only for the purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate for the administration and management of a church organization. Access to your personal information is on a “need to know” basis.
We instruct all personnel and volunteers in the importance of protecting your personal information. We also instruct all personnel and volunteers that personal information obtained during their service cannot be used for any purposes other than authorized.
We maintain adequate physical, procedural, and electronic security with respect to offices and information storage facilities (e.g. filing cabinets) so as to protect personal information against such risks as unauthorized access, use, disclosure, or destruction.
Donations & Offerings
Access to information regarding your tithes, donations, and offerings to the Center is restricted to the personnel and volunteers who collect, count, and record the offerings; the church administration for processing your income tax receipts; the Finance Representative who handles the records; the Senior Minister; and the Board Treasurer.
You have the right to request access to information about your tithes and offerings. However, you do not have the right to access tithing/offering information of other identifiable congregants of the Center. You may access aggregate tithing/offering information not linked to an identifiable congregant. All requests for access must be submitted to the Center’s business department and we will endeavor to respond to your access request as soon as possible.
Prayer Requests
We encourage our congregants to share their prayer requests online, in the prayer box, or with a practitioner or minister. We may include your name in a prayer list but only if you request it. We recognize that some requests are sensitive and very personal in nature. Although some details may be shared with other practitioners/ministers in prayer, we do not share confidential information with other members.
We offer a prayer room where individuals can pray with practitioners after Sunday services. This is a shared room and privacy cannot be guaranteed.
The Center’s Website and Social Media
We carefully review the purpose and need before posting personal information on our website or on social media. However, photos may be taken at our events, services, etc. and posted. If you do not want your photo or name used, please contact us with this request.
