Olivia Kinzler

Olivia Kinzler was born in Lebanon, Tennessee and grew up in Ft. Knox, Kentucky. She’s a self
described Army brat that graduated from Ft. Knox High School. She traveled to Europe as a
dependent, then married in France in 1964. After a tour in Germany with her husband Lou, they
returned to the US with two small children and settled in San Jose, California. After working part
time to help with household finances and her husband’s education, she was able to go to college
herself, graduating from Cal State University Fullerton. She earned a teaching credential at Cal
Poly Pomona. Ultimately, the family settled in El Granada, north of Half Moon Bay. When Lou was
offered a position in Paris, France, Olivia was thrilled! While there, she attended Cordon Bleu
culinary school and apprenticed with a chef extraordinaire. Many years later, upon retiring, she
gave herself over to volunteering wherever she was needed: in Oakmont as coordinator of Meals
on Wheels, holding positions in a few clubs, and cooking weekly at The Living Room. Olivia has
been a member of the center since 2011.
