Job Opening: Youth and Family Ministry Coordinator

Youth and Family Ministry Coordinator Job Description
Hours: 5-10 hours per week (required to work Sunday mornings)

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
● Oversee Sunday youth and family classes
● Assist with classes/childcare as needed
● Ensure curriculum is available and used by teachers
● Recruit, train, manage, and acknowledge YFM volunteers
● Coordinate classroom volunteers
● Assist in handling classroom order and behavior
● Set up classrooms with supplies and equipment
● Interface with families and parents on Sunday mornings
● Insure all volunteers, working directly with youth, successfully complete criminal background checks (CBC)

Record Keeping/Scheduling:
● Maintain an accurate database of volunteers and YFM attendance using Breeze Church Management
● Administer and maintain Sunday sign in forms for families and volunteers, including permission slips, and up-to-date contact data for all
● Prepare schedule of classroom teachers and assistants

Reporting Relationship:
● Reports directly to the Assistant Minister
● Receives regular annual performance reviews
● Writes a quarterly report to the Board of Trustees about attendance and general news from Y&F

Qualifications:
● Love of children, families, and building community
● Flexible, creative, open, and passionate
● Excellent people and communication skills
● Detailed, highly organized, self-motivated, and reliable
● Ability to supervise and manage teachers and volunteers
● Willingness to work in a team environment
● Pass a criminal background check (CBC)

Experience and Knowledge:
● Demonstrated teaching skills and experience
● Extensive Science of Mind or New Thought and Spirituality background
● Administrative, organizational, and adequate computer skills necessary
● Recruiting and training teachers and/or volunteers
● Understanding of California laws and requirements regarding working with youth
